1953 Bristol 403

Bristol was established in 1910 as a manufacturer of aircraft. After the war, they also began producing automobiles, the first production cars were the Bristol 400 released in 1946 based on the BMW 328.

The aerodynamic styling, including push button door opening mechanism, of the 403 was honed on the 2 mile airstrip at Filton Airport in Bristol.  In tests carried out twenty years later at the MIRAS wind tunnel, only 20 modern cars were found to more aerodynamic.

This car was restored onsite in 2001.
