1953 Citroen Big 15

 

Citroen became the first car maker to achieve volume production of a front wheel drive vehicle when it introduced its 'Traction Avant' in 1934. In addition to great stability achievable through the low centre of gravity of this car, the four and six cylinder Traction Avant models also boasted the innovative features, for the period, of unitary construction and independent torsion bar suspension on all four wheels.
