Traveling from the North
(from Picton and Central Nelson)
Follow state highway 6 signs through Port Nelson and along the coastal road. At the major roundabout follow directions to the airport veering right and stay in the right lane to turn right at the following roundabout. Our distinctive architectural building with curved walls and neon lit cone will be visible to your right.
Traveling from the south
(from Christchurch, West Coast)
Follow state highway 6 through Richmond and onto Whakatu Drive. When approaching the end of the highway turn left onto Quarantine road (this is at a roundabout). Our distinctive architectural building with curved walls and neon lit cone will be visible to your right.
Air travel
Nelson Air Port is approximately 2 minutes drive or a 20 minute walk away.
By bus
Nelson Suburban Bus Lines operate a frequent service from the City bus station, with a drop-off point a short walk from the Museum. Contact the Nelson SBL office for a timetable;

Disabled access
The museum has excellent access throughout for wheelchairs and has toilet facilities for the disabled. There are also dedicated permanent parking spaces for persons with disabilities.
Parking
There is free parking for approximately 100 vehicles. Dedicated coach and motor home parking spaces and bike stands are available.
